Anxiety
It can be called fear, worry or anxiety, but whatever we call it, it
steals our joy.
The fears that cause the most devastation are
abandonment, rejection, loneliness, death and dying, finances, illness
and of loosing control of our life. There are many underlying causes of
fears: major transitions, grief, loss, divorce, empty nest, aging,
moving, exhaustion, health problems and stress. Fear can have lasting
consequences in relationships.
How do we relinquish that fear of
losing control? What can we do to combat fear when in our
circumstances we become very humanly fearful? Christian counseling can
help us to recognize that fear is the opposite of faith. A counselor
can help us understand the untruths we tell ourselves (people will
always leave me, I will never get out of debt) and guide us the truths
that set us free.
Isaiah 43:1b-2 - Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you
by
your name and you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be
with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you
walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.
We can help...with His help.
