Tim Mavergeorge has been a Christian counselor since 1986. His past experiences include working with Rapha Treatment Centers (a Christian-based hospital treatment center) for ten years in adult and adolescent psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. Most of his experience in working with adults and adolescents has been in dealing with a variety of issues including marriage and family struggles, drug and alcohol addiction, sexual addiction, men's issues, unwanted same sex attraction, depression, and with other life struggles. Tim works with trauma victims and has advanced training in EMDR and Trauma Resolution Therapy (TRT). He is also a member of the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialists. He believes it is important that you know the perspective he takes in addressing issues of life and that a relationship with God is of the utmost importance in experiencing all that you are intended for. However, he wants you to know he is sensitive to meeting you where you are in your own spiritual life. Tim very much enjoys the work he does and wants you to know he takes it very seriously. His commitment is to give you the best he has to offer. He also asks that you give your best to the process. He will give you opportunities to develop yourself by challenging you, providing reading assignments and sometimes recommending helpful workshops. Tim has been married since 1986 and has four children. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and Christianity and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. He pursued additional post-graduate training to secure Licensure in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
