Forgiveness
When someone you care about betrays you, your trust is violated and
your emotional equilibrium is threatened.
You wonder if you can trust
again, you wonder how you could have been so deceived, you doubt your
own ability to adequately judge if someone is safe. You can become
fearful, anxious, depressed, and feel shamed and humiliated. You may
wrestle with the motivation of the offender: “Why?”
is a
frequently asked question. The only way to stabilize is to forgive.
Forgiveness is one of the most difficult tasks we have as Christians,
yet one that is paramount to your spiritual, emotional, and physical
good health. Forgiveness begins with changing our thoughts which affect
your feelings which changes the course of your actions. First
understand that it is a decision, then it is a process. In
counseling you are guided through the forgiveness process –
forgiving yourself, others, and even God to a place of spiritual
freedom.
Mark 11:25-26 - And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything
against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also
forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will
your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.
We can help...with His help.
