I have a B.A. from Baylor and a M.Ed. in Counseling from
the University of Houston-Victoria. I am
currently a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Psychology from the University of
Houston. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed
Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Certified School Counselor (CSC) and a
Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
In addition to my private counseling practice, I have
worked for as a teacher and counselor for nine years, I am a licensed and
ordained Southern Baptist Minister, have worked as a youth pastor for more than
a decade, and have worked in a residential treatment center for teens.
I have specialties working with adolescents, families and
adults. I primarily work with people age eight and older. I have advanced
Spanish-speaking abilities, but primarily perform counseling in English. I work
with transition issues, anger management, school and career development,
premarital counseling, parenting issues, addictions, gender identity/same sex
attraction, and most other issues that pertain to adolescence.
On a personal note, I believe that everyone is on a
journey and I hope to walk along-side and help all of my clients better
navigate the road of life by following the healthiest, most satisfying, and Christ-honoring
path possible. I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive
behavioral and client center therapy, to best meet my clients’ needs.
My wife Angela and I are long-time Katy residents who met
while attending Katy High School. They
have two children, Vivian and Zane.
