I'm a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1995) and hold a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Master of Arts degree in Religious Education. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and an ordained Baptist minister, I incorporate a God-centered theology within my counseling that draws people to connect with both God and each other. I believe God wants me to help others where they are hurting the most.
I have counseled in a variety of settings. From 2000 to 2003, I counseled U.S. Army families and their dependents in Schweinfurt, Germany, focusing primarily on marital issues. During my time in Germany, I developed an anger management group, a couple's communication group, and a group for teenagers who had been arrested for shoplifting, vandalism, and other criminal activity.
I recently resigned as the lead therapist on the adolescent unit at a local private psychiatric hospital, but I am familiar with all populations of clients. Additionally, I lead classes on marriage enrichment and improving parenting skills.
My wife's name is Elisabeth. We have been married since 1996 and have two children.
