Since 1987, I have had the opportunity to provide
Christian counseling to individuals and families in many different areas of the
country ranging from the Delta of Mississippi to the inner city of Detroit.
I understand through experience and by helping others
that change is an individual journey that one chooses to travel in their own
way. I sincerely believe that successful counseling requires a trusting
relationship between therapist and client. Therefore; my desire to assist you
through your journey will be based on compassionate communication, personalized
homework, and various other tools. Regarding your faith, I strongly feel it is
not my place to judge you. Instead, I will help and support you as you focus on
this profoundly special relationship in Jesus Christ.
I received my B.A. from Ambassador University, and my
Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. My pre-graduate internship was performed at
Texas Children’s Hospital. There I received training specifically focused in
the area of early childhood intervention and family systems. I then pursued
post graduate training that led to licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC).
In my current practice I continue to work with children
and families challenged with developmental disorders, Asperger’s, depression,
anxiety, bi-polar disorder, chemical dependency, trauma, ADHD, ODD, conduct
disorder, and attachment disorders. I
also enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples who struggle with these
same issues. I have recently started focusing on working with men and the many
challenges they face in today’s society. I am currently in the process of
receiving my licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).
I have been married since 1984. My wife and I have two
teenage children.
