I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been providing counseling since 2002. I received my graduate degree in Counseling from Stephen F. Austin and my undergraduate degree from Texas A & M. Personal counseling is a process of self-discovery and growth. Life can be difficult at times, and a caring therapist who listens and understands can be very helpful when facing the challenges life throws our way.

I love working with children and teenagers. Prior to joining HCCC, I worked in the public school system serving as a therapist for troubled children and teens. I've dealt with issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, learning disorders/ADHD, and relationship difficulties. I love children and I want to see them get the help they need to thrive and develop into healthy adults. I meet with parents first to assess their child's needs, and then develop a plan to meet those needs through therapy, encouragement, and support.

My own experiences as a wife and mother have influenced my interest in addressing the unique needs of women. Having personally experienced postpartum depression, I strive to provide new parents with the information and support they need to thrive during this important life transition. I know how difficult it can be to balance work, marriage, motherhood, and societal pressure to do it all well. It is my desire to help clients discover the possibilities within themselves and to develop deeper and more meaningful relationships with God, self, and others.

I love spending time with my husband Matt, my son Preston, and my dog Sophie. I work in the nursery at my church on Sundays. In my spare time I enjoy working out, shopping and watching movies.
