Phobias encompass many areas, common phobias include fear of animals and insects (dogs, snakes, and spiders) fear of germs, dirt, blood or diseases, fear of flying, public speaking, and heights.
There are social phobias and fear of being in a place where you can't easily escape. There are many other phobias but the common thread is the fear, the misery and the shame. Many people are reluctant to acknowledge to others their phobias for fear of being misunderstood and being ridiculed.
Some phobias are more common that others but all
phobias are debilitating in some way. With counseling and proper
treatment, most phobias can be resolved so those who are suffering from
them can live healthy lives.
2 Timothy 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear but
of power and of
love and of a sound mind.
