Robyn joined HCCC in 2004 as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She started her counseling career in 1992. She has extensive work experience with children and adolescents following her work at the Covenant House Texas, a shelter for homeless children, and Houston Achievement Place where she placed foster children in foster and adoptive homes and provided them therapy.
Robyn works with men and women and married couples. The adults she counsels may be experiencing grief, stress, depression, anxiety, or the effects of abuse and neglect. Robyn uses cognitive-behavioral approaches and spiritual prompts to assist her clients in getting to the real core of their issues. She is certified as a Prepare and Enrich Counselor offering premarrital counseling to engaged couples. Her undergraduate degree is in Philosophy from Trinity University with minors in Religion and Psychology, and her Master's degree is in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary's University, both in San Antonio, TX.
"My approach to counseling is to meet my clients where they are emotionally, then, together with the Holy Spirit, we will find our way back to that place where we somehow got off the path. I feel it is always wise to acknowledge there is only one healer in the universe, and it's not me. When we remind ourselves of the truth about our inheritance, that we are beloved children of our Heavenly Father, we quickly regain our footing!" Robyn married her husband Tom in 1992, and they share their home and yard with 3 labradors and 2 miniature donkeys.
