Sexual Abuse
Most people
(men and women)
who have
been sexually abused have strong feelings of anger, shame, fear and
hurt.
As adults you may experience depression, anxiety, post traumatic
stress syndrome, eating disorders, and flashbacks. You may have
feelings of low self esteem and self hatred. You may have difficulty
trusting others and find yourself coping with drugs, alcohol, or self
mutilating. Healing from sexual abuse trauma is not easy but it is
possible. Counseling provides a safe environment to tell your story, to
acknowledge the fact of the abuse and its impact. A Christian counselor
can help you explore your feelings and help you to begin to break away
from a place of victimization and past merely surviving to the place
God meant for you to be - victorious, more than a
conqueror.
Romans 8:37-39 - Yet in all these things we are more than
conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that
neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor
things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other
created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord
We can help...with His help.
