I chose the counseling profession because of what Jesus had done for me. 2 Cor 1:3-5 says, Praise be to the god and Father of  our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. I have a passion for helping women deal with various issues. I believe that the church should be a place to be real, to be healed, and to be loved.

I have led women's issues groups at my church for over 10 years. The healing power of groups is truly amazing as women learn to open up and trust each other. I love seeing the light bulb go on for women suffering from codependency, depression, and anxiety. They learn to change their thinking patterns and begin to rely on strength that can only come from God and they begin to heal. i have lead an intensive outpatient program for women suffering with addiction, eating disorders, and depression.

During my internship, I conducted both home and school based counseling to all ages of children. Most of these clients were referred by Children's Protective Services due to neglect or trauma. Another facet of my experience le me to work with clients suffering from bulimia, anorexia nervosa, and compulvise overeaters. I also have experience working with borderline personality disorder.

I received my undergraduate degree from Texas State in 1988. My graduate degree is from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I became an LPC in late 2010 and have recently begun counseling with HCCC.

I enjoy spending my spare time fishing and spending time around the water. I have been married since 1990 and have two teenage children.
