I have always felt drawn to listen to people’s stories and seek to understand their unique experiences. My counseling experience started in the early 90s when I worked as a Child Life Specialist helping children and their families adjust to being in the hospital. I had the privilege to journey alongside young individuals and families facing depression, anxiety, grief, and loss. My experience continued as I worked with individuals and families trying to make sense and meaning of their own histories of trauma and abuse that seemed to have ripple effects significantly impacting their relationships and their quality of life.
As a clinician, my greatest desire is to create a safe, trusting environment for anyone seeking help and support. I sit with you knowing firsthand the desire to experience change, but not always knowing the path to take. I know the courage and humility it takes to reach out for help. My goal is for you to find an authentic, safe environment in order to explore new thoughts, ideas, and behaviors that can change the trajectory of your relationships, your career, and your life. Your life and your story are important, and they matter! I believe in the empowerment of the individual and affirm that there is always hope for change.
I was drawn into a relationship with God when I was much younger. While I knew a lot about God, it was not until I went through my own personal healing that I truly experienced God in such a powerful way.
Tucked in Colossians 3:12 are the words “as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved…”. God used these words in my own life to help me understand the value, worth, and love He holds towards each one of us. I have learned that sometimes our circumstances may not change, but God can help us walk through any situation knowing we are so loved by Him.
I have been married to my husband since 2000, and we have four children. I have lived through the mountaintop experiences in marriage and parenting, as well as the deep valleys. I know as individuals, we experience a variety of roles and relationships that are ever changing and evolving. Sometimes we need help maneuvering ongoing life changes and difficult phases. I consider it a great privilege to hear your story, speak into your life, and witness you discover the fulfillment and freedom that comes through healing.
