The narrative of our lives is a sacred creation developed through our relational experiences. It might be difficult to believe that something beautiful can come from situations that are overwhelming at times. However, consider the possibility of a shift of focus from expecting an outcome to expecting a new experience.
When I was a teenager, I discovered the book Inside Out: Real Change Is Possible If You're Willing to Start from the Inside Out by Larry Crabb. This was my introduction to the radical idea that people can change. It consumed me. In my relentless pursuit in understanding how people change, I obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology and hold graduate level degrees in psychology and counseling. I have worked in both inpatient and private practice settings. My clients have been of all ages, but I have a special niche for women, parents and couples. More specifically couples who have experienced infidelity. Furthermore, I completed training in the Gottman Method and Emotion Focused Therapy. I am currently pursuing my certification as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and, in addition, I have had the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model Training (MPTM).
I am passionate about helping people move beyond simply modifying behavior to deep transformational change. With curiosity, compassion, and unconditional acceptance, I will partner with you to navigate whatever situation you bring to the counseling room. As I value connection, and believe it is what we were created for, I look forward to connecting and growing with you as we walk on a path toward healing and wholeness.
I am originally from South Africa and go back home often. In my free time I enjoy spending it with my two cats and husband. I also love baking and trying out new recipes. My new favorite hobby is DIY home projects. Though I’m not great ,I’m slowly getting there. My clients have described me as light and fun, but wise beyond my years.
