I have always been intrigued in listening with caring ears and a heart for people’s stories. I consider it an honor to sit across from someone who is sharing their story with me. My approach in counseling can be summed up as relationship oriented, faith inspired, and holistic. Simply stated, this means that I approach therapy from a relational lens and take into account your relationships specifically the one with your immediate family and the one you were born into. Furthermore, it means I trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the process of therapy, and I see you as a whole person with mental, emotional, spiritual, social, professional, and physical needs, etc. I specialize in working with couples and individuals who have experienced various attachment traumas either from childhood or during the course of their adult relationships. In our work together I will utilize my eclectic experience to support you towards healing and connection and I commit to provide an open and honest environment for you.

Throughout my experience I have worked with a range of populations, however one commonality I have encountered has been supporting those who have experienced trauma on some level. This experience has come in the form of supporting couples where one or both partners have a history of childhood trauma or where the damaging impact of infidelity or betrayal trauma has occurred. Additionally, I also have substantial experience supporting individuals who have dealt with a range of traumatic events whether from childhood or existing within their adult life and even within their adult relationships.

I am certified in Level 1 & 2 of the Gottman Method, which is an intensive research based marriage intervention. Additionally, I have completed training in Level 1 PACT therapy, which is another intensive approach to couple’s counseling.  I have completed extensive training geared at working with trauma including approaches such as Somatic Experiencing, TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention), and am currently completing training for EMDR.

I received my M.A. in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology and an M.S. in General Counseling Studies from Palm Beach Atlantic University located in West Palm Beach, FL. For my undergraduate degree, I attended Kansas State University and received a B.S. in Psychology. I currently hold the status of a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate within the state of Texas.

In my spare time I enjoy relaxing with family, laughing, and binge-watching a good series that can range from drama to comedy. I have been married since 2015 and have 3 wonderful children that I have been blessed to watch grow every day.

I look forward to the opportunity to support you in your process of exploration and growth and am privileged to come alongside you on your journey towards wholeness!
