Clinical Areas of Focus
I am a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Certified Social Worker. I have been counseling since 1985 and have been with HCCC since 1993. I specialize in marriage intensives. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents.
My passion and experience includes helping people in the area of marriage therapy, depression, fear and anxiety issues, anger issues, life disappointments, vocational difficulties, recovery from abusive and dysfunctional relationships, communication problems, divorce, and grief issues.
My compassion is deep for you who are hurting to be comforted and to learn new skills that will help you out of your pain. It has been an honor to work in this field for so many years and to see God's faithfulness through trials and suffering. It is amazing to see how God works as we seek His wisdom and His ways.
My husband, John, and I have been married since 1981. We are both certified trainers with Intimate Life Ministries and Dynamic Marriage. I am also certified as a Prepare and Enrich Counselor, offering pre-marital counseling.
John and I have a desire to help couples build a marriage relationship that reflects God's plan of experiencing love daily. Through a local ministry called Grateful Hearts, we, along with other leaders within the ministry, conduct marriage workshops. I am also available for conflict resolution seminars and speaking engagements.
I am the author of The HEAR Process, a book written to help guide us through communication that will bring healing to relationships. I also co-authored the book, Press On ... From Mourning to Joy, a workbook dealing with the trauma of grief.
For those interested, I offer private, 1 or 2 full day marriage intensives for couples in crisis who want to get a jump start on reconciliation and begin experiencing healing in their relationship. This concentrated approach to marriage counseling provides healing from years of built up hurt. Intensives prepare you for moving forward in your marriage, with skills to resolve conflict successfully and experience trust.
