I am first and foremost a daughter of the Most High King. This identity shapes everything about me and how I approach the work of counseling. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate, I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the places where relationships, emotions, faith, and life transitions intersect. My clinical experience includes working with women experiencing significant life transitions, couples entering marriage, couples seeking to strengthen or restore their relationships, and individuals navigating anxiety, relational challenges, identity, family-of-origin concerns, and other life struggles.
I believe people are best understood within the context of their relationships and experiences. My approach is relational and attachment-informed, drawing from Family System, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, and other experiential and evidence-based approaches. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel seen, understood, and safe enough to explore both what is happening beneath the surface and what you desire for your life and relationships.
As a Christian counselor, I believe that psychological and spiritual well-being are deeply connected. I view counseling through the lens of a biblical understanding of identity, relationship, grace, and restoration, while honoring each person's unique spiritual journey. I integrate Christian faith and Scripture into counseling when desired and seek to meet each person where they are rather than imposing a particular spiritual experience or expectation. My desire is to help clients experience greater wholeness while recognizing that meaningful change often involves both the heart and the relationships surrounding us.
I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Houston Christian University and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Healthcare Business Management from the University of New Orleans. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate in the state of Texas and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I have completed Gottman Level I training and am a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator and Marriage Mentoring Academy Certified.
My areas of particular interest include marriage and relationship enrichment, women navigating life transitions, attachment and relational patterns, marital intensives, and helping individuals and couples develop healthier ways of connecting, communicating, and responding to one another. I especially enjoy helping clients slow down, understand what is happening beneath their reactions, and move toward greater emotional connection and relational security.
I have been married since 2001 and am the mother of two sons. My husband and I have served couples through SYMBIS for the last six years. My personal experiences in marriage, motherhood, family, faith, and caring for multiple generations have deepened my appreciation for the complexities and beauty of relationships. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family, serving in ministry, studying Scripture, gardening, traveling, and encouraging others in their faith and relationships.
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people during significant seasons of their lives. My hope is that clients leave counseling not simply with tools for managing problems, but with a deeper understanding of themselves, healthier relationships, and a renewed sense of hope.
