I believe everyone’s story matters. I consider it a privilege to get to know my clients and help them connect to their stories, understand how they’ve made sense of themselves and their world, and address anything that might be getting in their way. My goal is to meet my clients where they are, recognizing that healing involves both the challenges of the present and the impact of the past. I have seen this to be true both in my clients’ therapeutic work and in my own growth and experience in counseling. I am passionate about seeing my clients experience freedom from the trauma in their lives, find their voice, tune into their bodies, and engage their stories so that they may live full and authentic lives. I would be honored to take this journey to pursue a deeper level of healing and freedom with you!

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and attachment-based, drawing insights from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and a trauma-informed lens. I am EMDR trained and often use this modality to help individuals heal from symptoms and emotional distress stemming from challenging life experiences.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. For two decades, I worked as an optometrist where I had the privilege of helping patients see the world more clearly. However, through personal counseling to navigate my own story and trauma, I felt the Lord’s calling to help others find meaning in their pasts and confront current challenges to achieve genuine transformation. This led me to obtain a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine.

I have been married to my husband since 1993. Together, we enjoy exploring outdoors, trying new culinary experiences, traveling, playing with our Cavapoo puppy, Maggie, and spending quality time with our adult kids.
