Hi, my name is Kathryn. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. Sometimes we can get stuck. I like to partner with my clients to help them find ways that work for them to get unstuck and increase their quality of life through a good alignment with values and actionable, concrete steps that work for each client. My faith has been an unmistakable, relentless part of getting me here and reaching you now. Being able to reach and help those affected by trauma is a passion of mine. The reality of trauma is in many people’s lives. Whether it be small or big trauma, it impacts the way we view ourselves and the world by challenging our sense of safety.
Each of us has the possibility to learn of new ideas, words, and actions that in turn lead to new habits and events. My attitude toward therapy is one of realism, opportunity, and embracing that our own habits and self-talk help perpetuate and sculpt our idea of our present reality. With this, I aim to help each client identify and work with these parts of ourselves in the moment to move toward healthy, helpful relating, responding and meaningful connectedness. Partnering with clients in practicing mindfulness and embracing newer helpful stories are just some of the ways we adjust along the way on our journey together.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Arts in Counseling. I chose counseling because I feel called to help others and I enjoy talking and connecting with people. This call to help others began through a faith calling that I am meant to be a conduit for resources and the instillation of hope in people’s lives. This became evident after life experiences that led to witnessing people shouldering losses while working.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending my leisure time exercising, chatting, and hanging out with family and friends, reading, gardening, and going on new adventures with my husband and three children.
