I work with teens, adults, individuals, and couples. I enjoy helping individuals navigate a variety of challenges, including anxiety, obsessive – compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, past hurts, relationship difficulties, family struggles, and other life challenges. My work has deepen my interest in understanding how our past experiences, relationships, and ways a coping can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to life's difficulties.
I believe one of the most important parts of counseling is the relationship between the counselor and the person seeking help. Building trust and creating a space where people feel safe, heard, and understood is the heart of my approach. I believe, meaningful and lasting change begins when people feel comfortable being honest about their struggles without fear of judgment. My goal is not only to help individuals find relief from their current difficulties, but also to help them better understand themselves, recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
My approach to counseling is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a belief that our experiences in relationships play an important role in shaping who we are. My trainings in Restoration Therapy, which focuses on understanding how past experiences and relationships influence our thoughts, emotions and behaviors, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and treatment of obsessive, compulsive disorder (OCD) have helped shape an approach that considers both the deeper roots of a person’s struggles and the practical steps that can help them move forward.
As a Christian counselor, I believe that faith can be an important source of hope, healing, and understanding. When appropriate and desired by the individual, I seek to integrate biblical truth, and a Christian worldview into the counseling process.
In my free time, I enjoy playing sand volleyball, watching psychological, thrillers (Inception is my favorite!), And going on date nights with my wife, Anna.
