I have a passion for helping people heal their hearts and minds. Life can be difficult and challenging at times. We need each other to help process painful situations while gaining new insights on how to deal with overwhelming problems. As humans, we were never meant to walk alone and I feel honored to walk alongside my clients wherever they are in their journey. Having gone to counseling myself, I can relate to the bravery it takes to seek out help and make a change.
I practice from a person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed perspective. That means that I see every human being as unique and divinely made. You are here on purpose and for a purpose! However, our life experiences and relationships can sometimes cause disruption, pain, or disappointment. In those times, we can feel stuck and need help processing and move forward. Healing is possible through a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment, which I strive to provide through the therapeutic relationship.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence based treatment for a wide range of mental health challenges. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) when appropriate. Every client is unique, and together, we will tailor make your therapy and goals to match your needs. I value the place where science and spirituality intersect so my aim is to treat the whole human by honoring your biological, psychological, and spiritual experiences.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University. I have experience working with anxiety/panic attacks, boundaries, narcissistic abuse, PTSD, parenting, stress management, ADHD, religious/spiritual abuse, grief and loss, and women’s issues.
I have been married over 20 years and have two young adult daughters. I enjoy reading, all things music, laughing, walking outdoors, and spending time with my loved ones.
