Samantha Istakhorov

I love working with adult women, couples, teens, and families, and I am especially drawn to clients navigating infertility and miscarriage, postpartum challenges, partner betrayal, depression and spiritual depression, and neurodivergence in relationships. I believe suffering isn't a detour from real life but part of being human in a broken world, and that God meets us inside our pain rather than asking us to climb out of it first.

Clinically, I work from Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), framed through gospel-centered biblical counseling. My aim is to bring careful clinical work together with the truths of scripture so that healing, growth, and meaning can take root through a deepening relationship with Christ. My prior work in inpatient eating disorder recovery, mood and anxiety treatment, substance use rehabilitation, private practice, and community outreach has taught me to take both the body and the soul seriously.

I hold an LMFT-Associate license in Texas and am a member of AAMFT. I am an APSATS Trainee (Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) and have received extensive trauma-informed training to help partners who are seeking healing after betrayal and/or sexual addiction. I am in the process of completing my counseling certificate through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). I earned my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University's The Family Institute and my BA in Economics, with minors in English and Psychology, from Loyola University Chicago.

I spend most of my time with my husband running after our little toddler and enjoying the beautiful parts of Houston. My best days are full of good music, coffee, books, and conversations.
