I joined the HCCC family of counselors in 2012. Prior to working in Sugar Land, I served on staff as a counselor in rural Texas for families with CPS cases and/or drug problems. I worked previously in the Pacific Northwest offering Family Counseling and drug counseling in my private practice for inmates in the county jail, and other settings.

God has led me to work with individuals: (life-transitional crises such as separation, divorce, remarriage, alcohol or drug problems, depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, suicide prevention, stress management, mood and anxiety disorders; psychosomatic concerns; job loss, career dissatisfaction/change; problems in adjustment to physical illness and disability; body-image issues; and adjustment difficulties of aging and retirement); with couples: (Covenant Marriage, pre-marriage, remarriage, blended families, conflict and violence, abuse, divorce, empty nest), and families: (parent-child conflicts, problems with co-parenting, single-parenting and/or blending families from previous marriages, difficulties with CPS cases, and difficulties with in-laws and other extended family members), all focusing on helping couples build God inspired marriages as well as learning to parent with confidence according to God’s plan.

I believe that the teaching of scripture has always been relevant to personal life and relationships, that Christ is the creator of life, and that he has made us for relationships with Himself and with each other. I believe that God uses the people around us to display his compassion and comfort. When questioned about marriage, Jesus said, “What God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Mark 10:9)

I strive to meet my clients where they are and help them take the next step in their walk with God: learning to depend on God’s Word to overcome adversity, understanding God’s Will, growing closer to God through their struggles, and developing the kind of lasting and satisfying relationships God intends for us.

I have a Master of Science (MS) degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Portland State University, in Portland, Oregon. I am active in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and in the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

My wife, Linda, and I have eleven grandchildren and enjoy serving at our home church as youth Sunday School hosts and teachers, in our Celebrate Recovery Program, and in other blessings.
