Melissa Winn
Growing up comes with big emotions, challenges, and changes — and sometimes children and teens need extra support. My goal is to provide faith-based, compassionate counseling for children, adolescents, and young adults, partnering closely with families to help young people build confidence, enhance emotional skills, and discover their God-given strengths.
I have over 20 years of experience with children and adolescents, helping them to navigate the daily pressures and challenges of today’s culture. I specialize in ages 5 through college, supporting issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss.
My client-centered counseling approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. When working with younger children, I like to incorporate play therapy so they can better express themselves and their emotions.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Master of Education in Guidance & Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Wellness & Mental Health Counseling. I am licensed in Texas as an Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Jeanne Hensley, M.S., LPC-S.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three amazing sons, and two goofy dogs.
